Fire & Dyes

My 2 creative passions.

Fire transforms the most basic raw materials into the molten substance that cools into hardened glass.

Dyes add character, personality and meaning to the material they infuse.  In this case, the dyes come from plants in my backyard and others I encounter in my travels.

Humans have been using fire and dyes for thousands of years to transform objects:  sometimes for function, sometimes for artistic purposes.

I use them to make one-of-a-kind pieces for modern living.
